It’s been a while…
It’s been a while since the last post - and I hope to start keeping on the ball from now on!
On the movie front, we screened Noor at the Directors Guild of America Theatre last month - seeing it projected in HD was truly a wonderful experience! We screened alongside the other Wasserman King finalists and winners, so we were in great company!
We just got into the RHODE ISLAND INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL!! This is a great step forward and the biggest festival we have been fortunate enough to get into. Good times to come.
Other than that, not too much to report from this end. There are some great films coming out in the same vein as Noor but SUPERSIZED that I totally encourage everyone to hunt down and go see,
1. AMREEKA
2. CAPTAIN ABU RAED
The first is about a Palestinian American girl growing up in Ohio! It’s funny, it’s great, you’ll laugh, you’ll cry and then you’ll want to watch it again! Captain is a great story set in the Middle East about an airport janitor who has always wanted to be a pilot - great for the imagination and even better for the heart!
Seeing so many great films told by Arab voices is a great thing! Go forth and support people!
